Alcon Canada was established in 1959 in an office in Don Mills, Ontario, marketing a small number of ophthalmic pharmaceuticals. Since that time, Alcon Canada has grown into Canada's largest eye care company. Today, our Canadian headquarters are located in the city of Mississauga, Ontario, where we occupy a 92,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. Alcon Canada currently employs more than 220 people across the country and is an ISO registered company.
Today, Alcon Canada markets the full range of ophthalmic surgical supplies, instrumentation, and pharmaceuticals together with dry eye and contact lens care solutions. We sell these products to hospitals, ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, and retail pharmacies.
Alcon Canada supports numerous Canadian Medical Missions through the donation of ophthalmic drugs and devices to Canadian eye care specialists who volunteer their time and skills to preserve and restore sight in developing countries. We also donate pharmaceuticals and devices to the C.N.I.B. Mobile Eye Care Unit. Alcon Canada is proud to be a long-time sponsor of the Guide Dog program through the Lions Foundation of Canada.
